Engraving of the schooner Willem Barents in the drift ice, during the Dutch Arctic Expedition of 1878. This expedition, commanded by Lieutenant de Bruyne, explored Jan Mayen Island, Spitzbergen, Bear Island & Novaya Zemlya between May and October of 1878.
