Entitled, If the War Makes you Lose Your Wool - Try This, this illustration shows an early form of hair transplanting, championed by a Dr. Szekely of Budapest. The technique, which threaded a wire with hair, which was then injected into the scalp through a hypodermic needle, could apparently plant as many as sixty hairs a minute in the patient’s head, without, according to the picture, discomfort.
