Engraving showing a panoramic of a banquet for Crimean war veterans in Stack A, a warehouse in Dublin’s Docklands, held on October 22nd 1856. Organised by the Irish government to honour the 3,600 troops who had recently returned from the Crimea, the tobacco warehouse, which was transformed with furnishing & floral arrangements, was found to be the only venue big enough to hold such a large number of people. Banners celebrating the various battles were hung around the wall.
