Husband and wife, Miss Mable Hackney and Mr Laurence Sydney Irving, victims of the Empress of Ireland tragedy. Miss Mabel Hackney was a much loved actress, who made her debut at St James's Theatre in 1895. Mr Laurence Sydney Irving started acting in 1891 with Mr F R Benson's company, and his reputation culminated with his success in Typhoon.
