Historic print of the latest type of home receiver for vision and sound, with a fluorescent screen 8 by 6 inches, displaying a picture of Mickey Mouse. In 1935 the set cost ?50, while the larger size, 12 by 9 inches, cost ?80. The price was significantly reduced when production became competitive. On the 2nd February 1935, the Baird system transmitted indoor and outdoor scenes to an audience in Westminster. The subjects of the recording included horse jumping and racing film scenes.
