Historic print of a wounded British soldier making his first attempt to walk with artificial legs. The photograph was taken at Queen Mary's Convalescent Auxiliary Hospital at Roehampton House. The hospital specialised in fitting artificial limbs under skilled advice and taught men how to use them. It was estimated that around 250,000 British soldiers lost limbs during World War I and one million worldwide. This historic print is available as an unframed giclee print, box canvas print or framed print.
