Prince of Wales and Duke of Edinburgh at Eddystone

An old engraving of the Prince of Wales and Duke of Edinburgh arriving at the New Eddystone lighthouse to lay the foundation-stone. The Princes were carried to the rock on the SS Galatea (steamer on left of image), a Trinity House yacht. The lighthouse, designed by Sir James Douglass, was completed in 1882.
