Historic print of Race riots against Jews in Southern Russia in the Summer of 1881. The authorities did little to prevent killings and the destruction of Jewish businesses. Many Jews emigrated to America via Liverpool as a result. This engraving shows a Jewish man being beaten by a mob and the Russian soldiers (at left) not intervening.
