Historic print of River bed sifting on the Turon river, a sketch from the Turon gold fields, New South Wales. The pump is lowered 12 feet from the surface of the river and water is used to wash the earth in the cradler. This is a labour saving devise allowing the diggers to yield large amounts of gold.
